James: Hi everyone, I'm James.
Medina: And I'm Medina.
James: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in Swahili about New Year greetings. Abdulahi celebrates the New Year, posts an image of it, and leaves this comment:
Medina: Hongera kila mtu. Ni mwaka mpya.
James: meaning - "Congrats everyone. It is a new year." Listen to a reading of the post and the comments that follow.
DIALOGUE

Abdulahi: Hongera kila mtu. Ni mwaka mpya.

Johana: Hongera pia. Unaita watu sherehe?
Zainabu: Asante. Hongera pia.
Asha: Mimi naona kama ni siku ya kawaida tu.
Musa: Sherehe ya nini na hakuna pesa.

James: "What party? There is no money."

James: All together, "Congrats everyone. It is a new year."
Medina: Hongera kila mtu. Ni mwaka mpya.
COMMENTS
James: In response, Abdulahi's friends leave some comments.
James: His nephew, Johana, uses an expression meaning - "Congrats too. Are you inviting people for a party?"

James: His supervisor, Musa, uses an expression meaning - "What party? There is no money."
